Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-214 |
Name | Anti-SCG10/Stathmin-2 mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD-L5/1R |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | WB, IF |
Species Reactivity | Rat, Human, Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for SCG10. SCG10 is a regulator of microtubule stability. When phosphorylated by MAPK8, stabilizes microtubules and consequently controls neurite length in cortical neurons. In the developing brain, negatively regulates the rate of exit from multipolar stage and retards radial migration from the ventricular zone. |
Alternative Name | Stathmin-2; Stmn2; Superior cervical ganglion-10 protein; Protein SCG10; L5/1 |
UniProt | P21818 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide of amino acids 155-179 of rat SCG10. |
Application Notes | Western blot was preformed on lysed rat neurons using this antibody (Tortosa et al, 2017; PMID:28521134). Immunostaining was preforemed on hippocampal and cortical neurons from rats using this antibody (Tortosa et al, 2017; PMID:28521134). Immunofluorescence was preformed on rat neurons. These neurons were either transfected at 6 DIV using Lipofectamine 2000 or untransfected (Levy et al, 2011; PMID:21471001). |
Antibody First Published | Levy et al. Subcellular Golgi localization of stathmin family proteins is promoted by a specific set of DHHC palmitoyl transferases Mol Biol Cell. 2011 Jun 1;22(11):1930-42. PMID:21471001 |
Note on publication | it was shown that palmitoylation of stathmins 2 and 3 likely occurs at the Golgi and is crucial for their specific subcellular localization and trafficking. |
