Specificity | This antibody is specific for 2.4[2.8]2.4-linked Kdo tetrasaccharide. Which is a partial structure of chlamydial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). |
Alternative Name | Kdo; alpha-Kdo; 3-deoxy-alpha-D-manno-oct-2-ulopyranosonic acid; 3- deoxy-alpha-D-manno-oct-2-ulopyranosonic acid; Chlamydia lipopolysaccharide (LPS) component |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunizing mice with Kdo(2f8)[Kdo(2f4)]Kdo(2f4)Kdo(2f6)GlcNAc4P-(1f6)GlcNAcol-BSA and further immunizing them with Kdo(2f8)[Kdo(2f4)]Kdo-BSA. |
Application Notes | To screen hybridomas for this antibody ELISA was performed on neoglycoconjugates and immunofluorescence was performed on cells infected with either C. trachomatis or C. psittaci. Surface plasmon resonance was performed on Kdo(2f8)Kdo(2f4)KdoBSA (164, 1650, and 2460 RUs), Kdo(2f4)Kdo(2f4)Kdo-BSA, Kdo(2f4)Kdo BSA and BSA(Sigma), as a reference protein using the mouse version of this antibody (Brooks et al, 2010; pmid:20000757). |
Antibody First Published | Brooks et al. Antibodies raised against chlamydial lipopolysaccharide antigens reveal convergence in germline gene usage and differential epitope recognition. Biochemistry. 2010 Jan 26;49(3):570-81. PMID:20000757 |
Note on publication | The structures of antigen-binding fragments from two related monoclonal antibodies have been determined to high resolution in the presence of several carbohydrate antigens raised against chlamydial lipopolysaccharide. |
