Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody binds the β-actin/nucleolin (ACTB/NUCL) complex. Actin is a highly conserved protein that polymerizes to produce filaments that form cross-linked networks in the cytoplasm of cells. Nucleolin is a major nucleolar protein of growing eukaryotic cells. It is found associated with intranucleolar chromatin and pre-ribosomal particles. It is thought to play a role in pre-rRNA transcription and ribosome assembly.
Alternative Names
ACTB; Actin; Beta-actin; β-actin; NCL; Nucleolin; Protein C23
UniProt

Immunogen
The original antibody was isolated from a VHH library generated by immunization of an alpaca with whole glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) cells.
Application Notes
This antibody was used for identification of ACTB/NUCL complex in cytosolic and membrane protein fractions of glioblastoma (GBM) tissues using western blotting. It was reported that NUCL and ACTB were poorly expressed in cytosolic GBM protein fractions and showed increased expression in GBM membrane protein fractions. ELISA was used for the screening of the nanobody library and identification of specific binders that showed specificity for GBM proteins (PMID: 28498803).
