Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody binds human CD277 (BTNA3A1). This protein plays an important role in T-cell activation and in the adaptive immune response. It regulates proliferation of activated T-cells and release of IFNG by activated T-cells. It is expressed on surface of T-cells, natural killer cells, dendritic cells and macrophages (at protein level). It is highly expressed in heart, pancreas and lung and moderately expressed in placenta, liver and muscle.
Alternative Names
BTN3A1; BTF5; BT3; BT3.1; Butyrophilin subfamily 3 member A1
UniProt
O00481
Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with soluble BT3.1-Ig fusion protein.
Application Notes
This antibody was used as an antagonist antibody to check if BTN3A can specifically enhance Vg9Vd2 TCR-mediated lysis of primary AML blasts using cytotoxic assays. This antibody was reported to significantly and drastically abrogate zoledronate (ZOL)-induced lysis (PMID: 27853633). This antibody can completely abrogate Vγ9Vδ2 T cell mediated lysis of tumors (PMID: 29296524).
