Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody is specific for digoxigenin A. Digoxigenin (DIG) is a hydroxy steroid that consists of 5beta-cardanolide, found exclusively in the flowers and leaves of the plants Digitalis purpurea, Digitalis orientalis and Digitalis lanata. It is a hapten, a small molecule with high antigenicity, that is used in many molecular biology applications.
Alternative Names
Digoxigenin; DOG; DIG; ChEBI: 42098; CAS:1672-46-4
UniProt
Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with digoxin conjugated to human serum albumin.
Application Notes
This antibody can be used for the detection of digoxigenin via ELISA. This antibody was also used for the generation of bispecific antibodies that bind cell-surface targets as well as digoxigenin (Dig) for targeted payload delivery (PMID: 21536919).
