Specificity
This antibody is specific for a sequence spanning the COOH-terminus of Loop 11, the inter-loop 11/111 connector sequence and Loop 111. FGFR is a tyrosine-protein kinase that acts as cell-surface receptor for fibroblast growth factors and plays an essential role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, differentiation and migration. Required for normal mesoderm patterning and correct axial organization during embryonic development, normal skeletogenesis and normal development of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) neuronal system.

Balb/c mice were immunized with recombinant human FGF-R1a or with both recombinant human FGF-R1b and recombinant human FGF-R1a .
Application Notes
To characterize this antibody a western blot was preformed on sf9 cells transfected with baculovirus recombinantly expressing the full length FGF-R1 protein. Furthermore immunoprecipitation was preformed on the lysed sf9 cells transfected with baculovirus recombinantly expressing the full length FGF-R1 protein. And finally a radioimmunityassay was preformed with the mouse version of this antibody on I125-labeled complexes (Xu et al, 1992; pmid：1325449). The distribution of FGF-1, FGF-2, and FGFR-1 was analysed using immunohistochemistry on tissue specimens of malignant salivary gland tumours using the mouse version of this antibody (Myoken et al, 1996; pmid：8691322). The mouse version of this antibody was used to immunoprecipitate lysed TRAMP-C2 cells. This was done to understand how FRS2 interacted with FGFR1 (Zhang et al, 2008; pmid：17901128).
