From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody is a general fluoroquinolone binder that likely binds to the antigen at the common pyridone-carboxylic acid pharmacophore.
Alternative Names
Quinoline monocarboxylic acid; antibiotic
UniProt
Immunogen
The original antibody was isolated from a human scFv phage display library by panning against biotinylated fluoroquinolone antibiotic.
Application Notes
This antibody was capable of binding the biotin analogue of fluoroquinolone in an ELISA. The binding affinity of the original scFv antibody to norfloxacin-biotin analogue was reported to be Kd = 1.58 µM. This antibody was used in the development of an ScFv biosensor for qualitative detection of antibiotics in livestock drinking water (PMID: 21142055),
