Specificity
This antibody is specific for the human TCR delta and gamma chains. The T-cell receptor (TCR) is a molecule found on the surface of T cells, or T lymphocytes, that is responsible for recognizing fragments of antigen as peptides bound to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules. On activation through antigen presenting cells (APCs), TCR-mediated signals are transmitted across the cell membrane by the CD3 chains CD3D, CD3E, CD3G and CD3Z. TCR part of the TCR-CD3 complex present on T-lymphocyte cell surface that plays an essential role in adaptive immune response.

Immunogen
Antigen-specific T cell blasts to poly-18, a polypeptide antigen of defined sequence and conformation, were generated from lymph nodes of antigen primed BALB/cCr mice. These blasts were fused with the BW5147 thymoma to obtain anti-poly-18-reactive T cell hybridomas from which the original antibody was generated.
Application Notes
This antibody can be used for the flow cytometric analysis of human peripheral blood cells (PMID: 12121897; 23447017; 25777993; 28223321). This antibody was used to block human γδ T cell receptor and prevent the human anti-porcine γδ T cell response (PMID: 11502983; 28713391). This antibody was also used to block the γδ T cell receptors in in-vitro tumor-killing assays (PMID: 21633088). This antibody was used for the immunohistochemical analysis of frozen tissue samples of parapsoriasis, mycosis fungoides and inflammatory dermatoses (PMID: 21479436). This antibody was also used for the immunohistochemical and indirect immunofluorescence staining of γδ T cells in breast cancer and normal tissues (PMID: 23959855).
