From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
The antibody binds to human galectin-4. Galectin-4 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LGALS4 gene. The galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins implicated in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions.
Alternative Names
Gal-4; Antigen NY-CO-27; L-36 lactose-binding protein; L36LBP; Lactose- binding lectin 4
UniProt

Immunogen
The original antibody was isolated from an antibody library after three rounds of panning against human galectin-4.
Application Notes
Immunofluorescence analysis on the human colorectal adenocarcinoma cell line LS174T was performed in order to verify the ability of the scFv fragment to recognize the natively expressed galectin-4 antigen. The antibody showed strong cytoplasmic staining. The binding affinity of the scFv fragment to human Galectin-4 was measured by surface plasmon resonance (Kd= 2.44×10-7 M) (US20190309060).
