This antibody was generated from renal mononuclear, Ab-producing cells (AbPCs) derived from diseased MRL/pr mouse kidneys. MRL/pr mice spontanously develop an automimmune syndrome associated with autoantibody production, and act as models of human systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
Application Notes
The binding specificity of this antibody has been confirmed in ELISA and Western blot analysis (Sekine et al, 2004). Intravenous administration of this antibody to normal mice results in glomerular binding, as revealed by immunofluoescence analysis, suggesting that the production of glomerular-binding autoantibodies by renal mononuclear cells conributes to the developmet of lupus nephritis (Sekine et al, 2004).
