Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody is specific for the HA-tag. HA contains a GTPase activator for the Rho-type GTPases (RhoGAP) domain that would be able to negatively regulate the actin cytoskeleton as well as cell spreading. However, also contains N-terminally a BAR-domin which is able to play an autoinhibitory effect on this RhoGAP activity.
Alternative Names
Rho GTPase-activating protein 45; Arhgap45; Minor histocompatibility protein HA-1
UniProt
Q3TBD2
Immunogen
This antibody was raised by immunizing balb/c mice with a 9 amino acid petide to influenza virus hemagglutinin.
Application Notes
The mouse version of this antibody has shown the ability to immunoprecipitate HA bound to BAX from cell lysates (Cheng et al, 1996; pmid:8596636). HA tagged SIM1 was immoprecipitated using the mouse version of this antibody. Other proteins present that lacked the HA tag were not immunoprecipitated (Michaud et al, 2000; pmid:10640708). A western blot has detected HA bound to PI4P5K using the mouse version of this antibody (Shibasaki et al, 1997; pmid:9065410). The HOXC6 protein bound to a HA-tag was immunoprecipitated using the mouse version of this antibody (McCabe et al, 2008; pmid:18339881). Cells expressing MLS2 fused to the HA epitope were stained using the mouse version of this antibody. Further the MSL2-HA protein was immuoprecipitated using this antibody (Smith et al, 2000; pmid:10594033). The Pat1 gene tagged with HA can be immunoprecipitated from lysed yeast cells using the mouse version of this antibody. Furthermore, the mouse version of this antibody can detect pat1-HA in a western blot. The western blot was preformed to determine the effect of topoisomerase II activity on chromosome segregation (Wang et al, 1996; pmid:8972867). HA tagged proteins can be stained using the mouse version of this antibody. Furthermore, the SPOP protein bound to a HA tag is able to be detected by the mouse version of this antibody on a western blot. The western blot was preformed to identify a novel antigen found in serum from a sclerodoma patient (Nagai et al, 1997; pmid:9414087).

Note on publication
Using site-specific mutagenesis,it is shown here that the amino-acid residues critical for protection of cells by Bcl-XL against Sindbis virus-induced apoptosis are clustered within the Bcl-2- homology regions 1 and 2 (BH1 and BH2 regions).
