Specificity
This antibody binds human heart fatty acid binding protein (H-FABP). Fatty acid binding protein (FABP) plays a role in the intracellular transport of long-chain fatty acids and their acyl-CoA esters.

Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing BLAB/c mice with human heart fatty acid binding protein isolated from human heart tissue.
Application Notes
The reactivity of this antibody towards human H-FABP was tested using ELISA. This antibody can be used in combination with another antibody 11F10 for detection of H-FABP in a sample using sandwich ELISA. HF2 is used as coating antibody, and HF10 is labeled with HRP for detection. This antibody combination was also used for the preparation of a myocardial infarction kit for detection of H-FAPB in the sera of 26 patients (CN1978465).
