Specificity
The antibody is specific for hepsin and cross-reacts with cynomolgus hepsin. Human hepsin is a Type II serine transmembrane protease and belongs to the trypsin family of serine proteases. Hepsin was identified by homology screening of a human liver cDNA library in 1988. It plays an important role in cell growth and maintenance of cell line morphology

The antibody is the humanized version of the murine Mab 2.7.35.
Application Notes
The crystal structure of the Fab fragment of the antibody in complex with hHepsin was determined. The binding affinity of the Fab fragments to hHepsin was measured by surface plasmon resonance (Kd= 39.8 nM). The original antibody could inhibit hepsin. The original antibody could detect hepsin expressed in HEK293 cells by flow cytometry and confocal microscopy analysis (WO2011161189A1).
