The antibody binds specifically to chicken IL-2, a type of cytokine signaling molecule in the immune system. The antibody did not react with chicken IFN-gamma or chicken IL-15.

The original antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with recombinant chicken IL-2.
Application Notes
The specificity of this antibody (IgG1) was confirmed in ELISA analysis. The antibody detected the recombinant chIL-2 by western blot. The antibody showed neutralizing chIL-2 activity in NK cell assay. The antibody was used as a capture antibody in capture ELISA (Miyamoto et al, 2001; pmid: 11457478).
