Specificity
This antibody binds human interleukin-8. Interleukin-8 is a chemotactic factor that attracts neutrophils, basophils, and T-cells, but not monocytes. It is also involved in neutrophil activation. It is released from several cell types in response to an inflammatory stimulus.

The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with human interleukin-8.
Application Notes
This antibody can be used for detection of IL-8 using ELISA. A combination of AbAbS1- IL8 and AbAbS2-IL8 was used for the detection of IL-8 in a sandwich assay, where AbAbS1-IL8 was used as a coating antibody and AbAbS2-IL8 was used as detection antibody. This combination was also used in the generation of a cytometric bead array (CBA) kit for detection of IL-8. The sensitivity of detection for this antibody pair for the CBA kit was reported to be less than 0.1pg/mL (CN118598996).
