The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with lead(II) cations reacted with glutathione to produce a lead cation covalently bound to ovalbumin.
Application Notes
This antibody was generated for identifying and controlling small quantities of lead cations, an environmental pollutant, in the presence of other heavy metals. The binding sensitivity of this antibody towards lead cations was determined using ELISA. The antibody was also assayed against BSA- glutathione and BSA-glutathione-lead cation. The results established the antibody immunoreacted with BSA- glutathione that had bound lead, and did not immunoreact with BSA-glutathione lacking lead (US6111079A).
