Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunization of Llama glama with mCherry fluorescent protein. A VHH cDNA library was generated by high-throughput DNA sequencing of a marrow lymphocyte from an immunized llama. Later on this was combined with mass spectrometric (MS) identification of high affinity VHH regions derived from serum of the same animal.
Application Notes
This antibody reacts with mCherry and also recognizes dsRed2, and tdTomato. This antibody binds immobilized mCherry with a binding affinity of Kd= 0.26 nM (PMID: 25362362).
