Specificity
This antibody binds to MERS-CoV spike protein receptor binding domain on the S1 protein. It is reported to cross-reacts with MERS-CoV strains England1, Bishan1, England1-D509G, whilst binding to England1-S532P, W535R and E536R is impaired.

Application Notes
This antibody binds to MERS-spike protein receptor binding domain, and has neutralizing effect in an in vitro model and was elicited by a vaccine conferring long-lasting in vivo protection. This antibody does not work by Western Blot.
