Specificity
This antibody specifically recognizes the membrane bound human and cynomolgus monkey mucin-17, which is a membrane-bound mucin that provides protection to gut epithelial cells from carcinogenic effects of chronic inflammation. It is also indicated that mucin-17 is highly expressed in gastric cancer specimens and is a compelling target for prognosis of gastric cancer.

The original antibody was generated by immunizing B6 mice with whole CHO cells transiently expressing huMUC17.
Application Notes
This antibody can be used for the detection of surface bound human MUC17 using flow cytometry. This antibody is recommended for staining formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human and cynomolgus monkey tissues using immunohistochemistry (WO2021188851).
