Specificity
This antibody binds human mucin-17, which is a membrane-bound mucin that provides protection to gut epithelial cells from carcinogenic effects of chronic inflammation. It is also indicated that mucin-17 is highly expressed in gastric cancer specimens and is a compelling target for prognosis of gastric cancer.

The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c and MRL/MpJUmmCrj-lpr/lpr mice with Muc17ct_mIgG2aFc fusion protein.
Application Notes
The binding specificity of this antibody for human mucin-17 was determined using ELISA. The binding of this antibody to a pancreatic cancer cell line AsPc1 was evaluated by flow cytometry (US8546546).
