Specificity
This antibody binds NT-proB-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), a 76 amino acid cleaved N- terminal (NT)-pro hormone BNP (NT-proBNP), which is a non-active prohormone that is released from the protein proBNP. BNP is a naturally secreted cardiac regulatory hormone that influences blood pressure and vascular water retention in human physiology. The plasma BNP and NT-proBNP concentration are clinically recognized biomarkers for various cardiovascular diseases.

Application Notes
The original mouse IgG antibody binds human NT-proBNP with a binding affinity of Kd= 9.83 X 10^(-10) M. This antibody can be used for the detection of NT-proBNP in a sample using ELISA (CN112745390).
