Specificity
The antibody binds progesterone and also has strong affinity for 5β and 5α- dihydroprogesterone with 30 and 20% of cross-reactivity, respectively. Progesterone is an endogenous steroid and progestogen sex hormone involved in the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and embryogenesis of humans and other species.

Application Notes
The original murine antibody binds progesterone with a very high affinity. The binding specificity of this antibody towards progesterone, 5β and 5α-dihydroprogesterone and determination of percentage cross reactivity was done using ELISA (PMID； 15878862).
