This antibody recognises human and hamster Rad51B, paralog of Rad51 which is an E. coli RecA homologue. It is invloved in the homologous recombination repair (HRR) pathway which fixes double- stranded breaks.

This antibody was raised against His-tagged human Rad51B, overexpressed in E. coli and purified on a talon affinity column under denaturing conditions, followed by gel purification using SDS-PAGE.
Application Notes
WB: Rad51B 1E11/6 antibody (1E11) detected Rad51B in a material from V79 cells used as a control in Western blot analysis of immunoprecipitated Rad51 complexes (French et al., 2002).

This article describes the earliest use of Rad51B 1E11/6 (1E11/6) antibody to detect Rad51B protein via Western blotting.
