From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
The antibody is specific for human-RANK-L. It does not recognize murine RANK-L. RANKL is a tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-related protein that binds to, and activates, the TNF receptor (TNFR)-related protein Receptor Activator of NF-kB (RANK). RANKL acts as the key cytokine that regulates osteoclast differentiation and activation during normal bone remodeling and during disease
Alternative Names
CD254; TRANCE; RANKL; ODF; OPGL; Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 11; Osteoclast differentiation factor; Osteoprotegerin ligand; Receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand; TNF-related activation-induced cytokine
UniProt

Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing CB6 fl mice with human RANKL protein.
Application Notes
The specificity of the original version of the antibody was confirmed by ELISA analysis (IC50 = 2 nM). The antibody specifically inhibits the functional activity of RANKL induction of DC maturation. The antibody could strongly inhibit the interaction between human RANKL and its receptor RANK in human monocytes. The inhibition led to antagonism of RANKL-mediated DC maturation and osteoclast development and function (US20040213788).
