Application Notes
The original antibody was used for an ELISA on SOD1 WT and misfolded SOD1. It only showed binding to the misfolded SOD1 protein. This antibody was used for a western blot on SOD1 WT and misfolded SOD1. This antibody was expressed in the spinal cords of mice with a SOD1 mutation simulating ALS. It showed that it delayed disease onset and extended lifespans (Patel et al., 2014; PMID:24394188). This antibody was used for immunohistochemistry on spinal cords from transgenic mice over-expressing the G93A-SOD1 mutation (Gros-Louis et al., 2010; PMID:20345765), and on SOD1G93A rat spinal cords (Pickles et al., 2016; PMID:27121871). The antibody was used for immunoprecipitation on spinal cords from transgenic mice over-expressing the G93A-SOD1 mutation. This antibody was used in vivo on G93A-SO D1 mice. It delayed the mortality on these mice (Gros-Louis et al., 2010; PMID:20345765).

Note on publication
In the original paper a passive immunization approach based on intracerebroventricular infusion in G93A-SOD1 mice of monoclonal antibodies specific to misfolded forms of SOD1 (mSOD1) was tested.
