Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody binds the Vps10p domain of the human sortilin-related receptor. Sortilin-related receptor 1 (SORL1) encodes a large, multi-domain containing, membrane-bound receptor involved in endosomal sorting of proteins between the trans-Golgi network, endosomes and the plasma membrane. The sorting of proteins is essential for normal cell function and defects in these pathways are thought to be important factors in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD).

Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with recombinant human hVps10p (aa 1-753).
Application Notes
This antibody has an inhibitory effect on the enhancement of vitronectin adhesion to U937 cells by sLR11 in a cell adhesion assy. The binding reactivity of this antibody to soluble human LR11 was determined by ELISA and cell adhesion assay. This antibody acts as a neutralizing antibody that inhibits enhancement of cell adhesion (JP2015196666).
