Application Notes
The LMW subunit of the Clostridium difficile SLP plays a significant role in the structure and function of the S-layer. It is involved in mediating the adhesion of the bacterium to host cells, a critical step in the infection process. Targeting this protein may help neutralize the pathogen by preventing it from adhering to and invading host cells, thereby mitigating infection. Antibodies against this subunit may also mark the bacteria for destruction by the host immune system.
