From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody binds human Tu translation elongation factor, mitochondrial (TUFM). This protein promotes GTP-dependent binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the A-site of ribosomes during protein biosynthesis. Also plays a role in the regulation of autophagy and innate immunity. These are chaperone-like properties involved in protein folding and overexpressed in colorectal carcinoma.
Alternative Names
TUFM; Elongation factor Tu; EF-Tu; P43
UniProt

Immunogen
The original antibody was isolated from a VHH library generated by immunization of an alpaca with whole glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) cells.
Application Notes
This antibody was used for identification of TUFM protein in cytosolic and membrane protein fractions of glioblastoma (GBM) tissues using western blotting. It was reported that TUFM expression was high in GBM compared to reference samples. ELISA was used for the screening of the nanobody library and identification of specific binders that showed specificity for GBM proteins (PMID: 28498803).
