IP, WB, Block, ELISA, FC, IHC
Isotype
Engineer antibody
Species Reactivity
Rat, Human
Clone No.
A.4.6.1
From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
Binds native and reduced human VEGF (isoform 165), with a Kd of 0.8 nm determined for the original clone.
Alternative Names
VEGF-A; Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor; VEGFA; Vascular Permeability Factor; VPF
UniProt
P15692
Immunogen
Recombinant human VEGF.
Application Notes
This is the parental antibody clone to the humanized, therapeutic antibody Bevacizumab (marketed as Avastin) binding to VEGF. VEGF is a growth factor active in angiogenesis, vasculogenesis and endothelial cell growth. It induces endothelial cell proliferation, promotes cell migration, inhibits apoptosis and induces permeabilization of blood vessels.
Antibody First Published

Note on publication
Describes generation of anti-hVEGF monoclonal antibodies as well as characterisation of binding by various methods. Also shows inhibition of angiogenesis and vascular permeabilization induced by human VEGF in a model organisms.
