Alternative Name | CNPS; Cryptococcus neoformans capsular polysaccharide; glucuronoxylomannan |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | A covalent serotype A Glucuronoxylomannan (GXM) -tetanus toxoid conjugate (GXM-TT). |
Application Notes | This antibody binds to Glucuronoxylomannan (GXM), which is the main constituent of the C. neoformans capsule and modulates the inflammatory response of monocytes. In a later study conducted by Yuan et al. 1998 (PMID: 9488395), it was shown that switching the original murine IgG3 antibody to other IgG subtypes, in particular IgG2A, significantly prolonged animal survival in an infection model. |
Antibody First Published | Casadevall et al. 1992 Antibodies elicited by a Cryptococcus neoformans- tetanus toxoid conjugate vaccine have the same specificity as those elicited in infection. Journal of Infectious Diseases 1992; 165(6):1086-1093 PMID:1583327 |
Note on publication | Describes the generation of nine monoclonal antibodies from the spleen of a GXM- TT-immunized mouse. |
