Application | Blocking, FC |
Species Reactivity | Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for murine IL-9. |
Alternative Name | Interleukin-9; IL9; Cytokine P40; T-cell growth factor P40 |
UniProt | P15247 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunising Armenian hamsters with Baculovirus-expressed, recombinant murine IL-9. |
Application Notes | In vitro, this antibody has inhibitory effects on IL-9 bioactivity, and inhibits the differentiation of Th17 cells and consequent production of IL-17 (Li et al, 2010). This antibody is also able to neutralise IL-9 in vivo (Li et al, 2010). Administration of this antibody suppresses acute experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), with an observed reduction in MOG-specific Th1 and Th17 cells in the periphery and the CNS (Li et al, 2010). |
