Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody recognises human Lewis A antigen, and cross-reacts weakly with Galα1-4Gal and rhamnose. |
Alternative Name | LE; FUT3; FUT2; ABO; PR.5C5; pr.5c5 |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with mucosal scrapings and cell membrane preparations from normal human large intestine. |
Application Notes | This antibody recognises human Lewis A antigen, and has been employed in the immunohistochemical diagnosis of colon disorders, including bowel, small intestine, stomach and colorectal cancers. It has been used in indirect immunoperoxidase staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded samples of normal colorectal epithelial cells and colon carcinomas (Richman & Bodmer, 1987). It has also been used in indirect immunofluorescence examination of frozen sections of colorectal tissue (Richman & Bodmer, 1987). Its specificity has been confirmed in ELISA analysis (Manimala et al, 2007). |
