Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-2476 |
Name | Anti-Nidogen/enactin mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- JF5 (6E4-C9-B7) |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | SPR, ELISA, IHC |
Species Reactivity | Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antribody is specific for the G2 domain of nidogen-1. It binds in such a way that it is able to stop the binding of nidogen to laminin. Nidogen-1 is a sulfated glycoprotein widely distributed in basement membranes and tightly associated with laminin. Also binds to collagen IV and perlecan. It probably has a role in cell-extracellular matrix interactions. |
Alternative Name | Nidogen-1; Nid1; Entactin; NID-1 |
UniProt | P10493 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunizing a rat with he G2 region of mouse nidogen that is able to block its binding to laminin. |
Application Notes | The binding of the mouse version of this antibody to nidogen-1 was proven by ELISA. Further, high binding affinity of the mouse version of this antibody to nidogen-1 was demonstrated using surface plasmon resonance (Ries et al, 2001; pmid:11589703). To compare nidogen-1 to nidogen-2 in their ability to bind basement membrane components, tissues from embryotic and adult mice were stained using the mouse version of this antibody to be used for immunohistochemistry (Salmivirta et al, 2002; pmid:12243745). |
Antibody First Published | Ries et al. Recombinant domains of mouse nidogen-1 and their binding to basement membrane proteins and monoclonal antibodies Eur J Biochem. 2001 Oct;268(19):5119-28. PMID:11589703 |
Note on publication | Recombinant proteins were produced of different predicted nidogen-1 domains in mammalian cells and used these proteins for crystallographic and binding epitope analyses. |
