Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody recognises vesicular stomatitis Indiana virus Glycoprotein (VSV-Ind G) (also shows activity against VSV-G pseudotyped lentiviruses). |
Alternative Name | vesicular stomatitis virus glycoprotein; glycoprotein; Glycoprotein; vcv- glycoprotein; vsv; vesicular stomatitis virus; I1; G; G protein; G-protein; vesicular stomatitis Indiana virus; vesicular stomatitis Indiana virus Glycoprotein; VSV-Ind G |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | The antibody was raised by immunizing mice with VSV. |
Application Notes | FC: The antibody was successfully used in flow cytometry with HEK-293T cells transfected with the G protein gene (Nikolic et al., 2018). IF: 8G5F11 antibody was used to stain cell-surface VSVG proteins in HeLa cells which had been previously transfected with VSVG-EYFP in an experiment on cellular transport inhibition (Yonemura et al., 2016). IF: Xing et al. (2016) detected VSVG in multiple immunofluorescence experiments using 8G5F11 antibody. |

Note on publication | The article describes the method of generation of various antibodies against surface glycoprotein of two serotypes of the VSV: Indiana ans New Jersey. Among them there is the 8G5F11 (I1) antibody. The paper further characterises those antbodies and analyses their epitopes in relation to one another. |
