Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody recognises Y. pestis surface antigen other than F1 (Western blot analysis showed that this antigen is an outer membrane protein of ca. 30 kDa). Y. pestis It is a facultative anaerobe that can infect humans causing plague. 6B5 antibody also exhibits minor cross-reactivity with Y. pseudotuberculosis. It does not cross-react with the following species: Y. enterocolitica, Salmonella Typhimurium, Salmonella Enteritidis, Salmonella Cerro, Salmonella Montevideo, Salmonella Medegridis, C. freundii, L. monocytogenes, L. innocua, E. coli, E. coli O157:H7, E. coli O111:NM, E. coli O26:H11, S. marcescens, V. cholerae, K. pneumoniae, K. oxytoca, A. viridans, H. alvei, S. flexneri, S. sonnei, P. hauseri. |
Alternative Name | non-fraction-1 cell membrane; Yersina pestis surface antigen; Y. pestis non-fraction-one cell membrane antigen; F1 deficient Yersinia pestis; Yersinia pestis F1 deficient antigen; fraction 1 antigen; Yersinia pestis; Pasteurella pestis; Bacterium pestis; Bacille de la peste |

Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunising Balb/c mice with formalin-killed F1 antigen–deficient Yersinia pestis A1122 cells |
Application Notes | This antibody allows detection of Yersinia pestis in room temperature. Most available immunosassays for Y. pestis are based on detection of F1, the dominant surface antigen expressed by the pathogen when it is grown at 37C. The advantage of detecting Y. pestis at room temperature is that it allows contamination testing in water, juice, milk, food and other environmental samples (Zhao et al., 2012). This antibody is recommended for the detection of Yersinia pestis in various samples as well as for the research and construction of Y. pestis tests and diagnostic tools. |
