Specificity
This antibody is specific for the CLCN4 protein. It does not cross react with CLCN5. CLCN4 is a strongly outwardly rectifying, electrogenic H+/Cl-exchanger which mediates the exchange of chloride ions against protons.

This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with a synthetic peptide amino acids 30-51 (TDRHRKITSKSKESIWEFIKSL, cytoplasmic N-terminus) of rat Clcn4.
Application Notes
This antibody is recommended for the detection and analysis of Clcn4 by western blot, immunocytochemistry and immunohistochemistry. For instance, the mouse version of this antibody was used to detect Clcn4 by immunohistochemistry in adult rat brain.
