Specificity
This antibody is specific for GluA1/GluN1 glutamate receptor epitope: amino acids 1-389. The antibody does not cross react with GluR2. GluR1 is a ionotropic glutamate receptor. L-glutamate acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapses in the central nervous system.

Application Notes
The IgG1 version of this antibody has been used for a western blot on hippocampal proteins of mice and proteins from the brains of rats (Bellizi et al, 2016; PMID:26818520) (Zhang et al, 2018; PMID:30181277). Immunohistochemistry was preformed on the brain of a rat with the IgG1 version of this antibody (Gong et al, 2016; PMID:26644354).
