From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody is specific for the human laforin protein. Laforin plays an important role in preventing glycogen hyperphosphorylation and the formation of insoluble aggregates, via its activity as glycogen phosphatase, and by promoting the ubiquitination of proteins involved in glycogen metabolism via its interaction with the E3 ubiquitin ligase NHLRC1/malin.
Alternative Names
N84/37.1R; EPM2A; Glucan phosphatase; Glycogen phosphatase; Lafora PTPase; LAFPTPase
UniProt

Immunogen
This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with a fusion protein amino acids 1-331 (full-length) of human Laforin.
Application Notes
This antibody is recommended for detection and analysis of laforin by immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry and knockout. For instance, the mouse version of this antibody was used to detect laforin by western blot in crude membrane fractions from whole rat or mouse brain and from human hippocampus, cerebral cortex or cerebellum.
