Cat. No.
MABL-158
Application
IP, WB, IHC
Isotype
Engineer antibody
Species Reactivity
Human
Clone No.
N85/18.1
From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody is specific for protein amino acids 1-395 (full-length) of human malin. There is no reported cross-reactivity. Malin is a E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. Together with the phosphatase EPM2A/laforin, appears to be involved in the clearance of toxic polyglucosan and protein aggregates via multiple pathways.
Alternative Names
N85/18.1R; E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase NHLRC1; NHLRC1; NHL repeat- containing protein 1; RING-type E3 ubiquitin transferase NHLRC1
UniProt
Q6VVB1
Immunogen
This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with a fusion of protein amino acids 1- 395 (full-length) of human malin.
Application Notes
This antibody was used for immunoblotting on neuronal cultures of either malin or laforin deficient mice (Upadhyay et al, 2017; PMID:28063983). Immunoprecipitation experiments were preformed with this antibody on neuronal cultures of either malin or laforin deficient mice (Upadhyay et al, 2017; PMID:28063983). Neuronal cultures of either malin or laforin deficient mice were used in a immunohistochemistry experiment using this antibody (Upadhyay et al, 2017; PMID:28063983).

Note on publication
it is shown that laforin- or malin-deficient neurons and fibroblasts display a significantly higher number of fragmented mitochondria.
