Application Notes | The antibody binds specifically to 2,3-Dinor-6-keto-prostaglandin F1α, a major urinary metabolite of PGI2 (prostacyclin). PG12 is a product of cyclooxygenase, and acts as a potent vasodilator and inhibitor of platelet aggregation. 2,3-Dinor-6-keto-prostaglandin F1α is a stable urinary metabolite of PGI2, and its levels in the urine can be measured using monoclonal antibodies in immunoassays, giving an indication of the levels of PGI2 produced in the body. |
