This antibody shows reactivity with anhydrous amoxicillin and other penicillin drugs like oxacillin sodium salt monohydrate (OXC), carbencillin disodium salt (CBC), penicillin G potassium salt (PCG), sulbenicillin (SBC), nafcillin sodium salt monohydrate (NFC), cloxacillin sodium salt monohydrate (CLC), penicillin V potassium salt (PCV), methicillin (MTC), APCampicillin trihydrate sodium salt (APC) and dicloxacillin sodium salt monohydrate (DCLC). Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections such as tonsillitis, bronchitis, sinusitis, pneumonia, and infections of the ear, nose, throat, skin, or urinary tract.

The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with amoxicillin covalently conjugated with BSA.
Application Notes
The ability of this antibody to bind amoxicillin and other penicillin drugs was determined by ELISA. This antibody shows reactivity with amoxicillin and 10 other penicillin drugs having a common core structure (6-aminopenicilanic acid, APA) and different light chains. The antibody recognized 11 penicillin drugs with an IC50 between 8.5–54.1 ng/mL (PMID 27383141).
