The antibody is specific for the negatively charged phospholipids (PS, PI, PG, CL). The antibody does not cross-react with neutral phospholipids (PE, PC).

The original antibody was generated by fusing the peripheral blood lymphocytes of three patients with SLE with a mouse-human heteromyeloma cell line, CB-F7.
Application Notes
The specificity of the original format of the antibody was confirmed by ELISA analysis. The antibody demonstrates lupus anticoagulant activity (Menon et al., 1997; PMID 9080299).
