Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with breast cancer cell lines.
Application Notes
The antibody stained breast tumors and breast cancer lines (Ring et al., 1989; PMID: 2470501). The antibody was employed in immunocytochemical assay to identify breast tumor cells (Franklin et al., 1996; PMID: 8932871). Fab fragment of the antibody was generated and tested for in vivo efficacy in the MX-1human breast tumor cell, where it showed a significant decrease in tumor volume (US5169774A). Immunoprecipitation tests on the antibody indicated that it bound to a monomeric c.a.210,000 Da protein found in cancerous breast tissue with high association constant (US6054561A). The antibody was further evaluated for range breast cancer recognition by cell line immunofluorescence assays. The antibody showed positive results on SKBr3, BT483, CAMA1 (US5629197A). The antibody was employed in bi-specific and tri-specific antibody development to detect c-erbB2 expression and breast cancer treatment (Press et al. 2005; PMID: 16166438). Furthermore, it was employed in developing tri-functional antibody ertumaxomab for breast cancer patients (Jager et al. 2009; PMID:19435924).
