Specificity
This antibody recognizes the domain 1-2 of the human cadherin 17. This antibody also cross reacts with mouse cadherin 17. Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. It is localized on the surfaces of epithelial cells in regions of cell-cell contact known as adherens junctions. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types.

Immunogen
The original antibody was isolated from a human single chain antibody fragments (scFv) library using phage display technology. The library was panned against domain 1-2 of human cadherin-17.
Application Notes
The binding affinity of this antibody to human cadherin 17 was determined using ELISA. The scFv version of this antibody binds human and mouse cadherin-17 with an affinity of 8.43×10^(−7) M and 6.4×10^(−7) M respectively (US20190309060).
