Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with purified Capsids of CPV and FPV which were prepared from infected feline cells.
Application Notes
The original version of this antibody (IgG2a) was raised and tested against CPA, FPV, and MEV and was found to inhibit and neutralize CPV-a and -b in neutralization and HI assays (Parrish et al., 1982; PMID: 6180709). The original version of this antibody was used in RIA and HI assays. In the HI test, it was found to inhibit CPV-a;-b;-c-;-d; and -e, and in the RIA, it was found to react with CPV-d variants 6, 12, and 8 (Parrish and Carmichael, 1983; PMID: 6194613). The Fab version of this antibody was used in a cryoEM analysis of capsid: Fab complexes, and its Kd was measured via ELISA as 3.4 × 10-9 M (Nelson et al., 2007; PMID: 17217977). The Fab version of this antibody was crystallized, and its structaure was determined (Hafenstein et al., 2009; PMID: 19321620).
