Specificity
This antibody is specific for amino acids 79-432 of human cytokeratin 17. Cytokeratins are intermediate filaments found in the intracytoplasmic cytoskeleton of epithelial tissue. Cytokeratin 17 regulates the activity of kinases such as PKC and SRC via binding to integrin beta-1 (ITB1) and the receptor of activated protein C kinase 1 (RACK1).

The original antibody was isolate from a human-derived scFv phage display library by panning CK17-D1 peptide (amino acids 79-432 of human cytokeratin 17).
Application Notes
The binding characterization of the scFv antibody was done by ELISA. The binding specificity of the IgG1 version of this antibody for human cytokeratin 17 was determined using flow cytometry (WO2010126279).
