Specificity
This antibody binds human cytokeratin 8. Cytokeratins are intermediate filaments found in the intracytoplasmic cytoskeleton of epithelial tissue. Together with KRT19, cytokeratin 8 helps to link the contractile apparatus to dystrophin at the costameres of striated muscle.

Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing ICR mice with a recombinant polypeptide comprising human cytokeratin 8 cross linked to bovine serum albumin and KLH carrier protein.
Application Notes
This antibody can recognize human cytokeratin 8 in an ELISA. The affinity constant for the original IgG3 antibody was calculated to be 9.6 × 10^(8) M^(-1). This antibody was used in the immunohistochemical analysis of breast cancer, liver bile duct epithelial cells and adenocarcinoma tissues (CN112940118).
