This antibody binds dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate. Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate is an endogenous androstane steroid that is produced by the adrenal cortex. It is the 3β-sulfate ester and a metabolite of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) that circulates in far greater relative concentrations.
