Specificity
This antibody is specific for chicken tensin. Tensin may be involved in cell migration, fibrillar adhesion formation, cartilage development and in linking signal transduction pathways to the cytoskeleton.

Immunogen
The mouse version of this antibody was generated by immunizing mice with a mixture of affinity-purified tyrosine phosphoproteins from chick embryo fibroblasts expressing activated pp60src, and recognizes FAK.
Application Notes
To characterise the binding of the mouse version of this antibody to tyrosine- phosphorylated protein, immunoblotting on tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins from CEFs, NIH 3T3, Rat-1, HOS and 10W was performed. Furthermore, immunoprecipitating on the same samples was preformed. The antibody showed a reaction in both experiments and has cross-reactivity (Kanner et al, 1990; pmid:2110361). Cell lysates from CE cells infected with RCAS/RCAS-FRNK/RCAS-FAK were immunoprecipitated using the mouse version of this antibody. Furthermore, the immunoprecipitated proteins are western blotted using this antibody (Richardson and Parsons, 1996; pmid:8606775).

To study transformation-relevant tyrosine kinase substrates, we have generated monoclonal antibodies to individual tyrosine phosphoproteins, including p130, p120, p110, and five additional phosphoproteins (p210, p125, p118, p85, and p185/p64). These antibodies detected several of the same tyrosine phosphoproteins in chicken embryo fibroblasts transformed by avian retroviruses Y73 and CT10, encoding the yes and crk oncogenes, respectively.
