This antibody recognizes a conformational epitope formed by the HLA-DR1 and the HLA-A2 peptide 'SDWRFLRGYHQYA' and binds to pMHC-II in a similar fashion as T cells.

The specificity of this antibody to recognize peptide/MHC complex epitope on HLA- A2+, -DR1/DRB1*0101+ typed lymphoblast cell lines was tested using flow cytometry. This antibody can also recognize HLA-A2-,-DR1/DRB1*0101+ LCLs exogenously loaded with HLA-A2 peptides (105-117, 103- 117) (PMID: 9805656).
